Really glad I stayed at this hotel for a 3-night Xmas package. Some of the best food I have ever had at an English hotel; not only superb quality every day but seemingly never-ending starting with breakfast, main midday meal, afternoon cakes and tea/coffee etc., evening gala dinner. All these meals served by the most pleasant and attentative staff I have ever experienced. Evening entertainment provided by an excellent trio on Xmas Eve, and different discos on the following nights playing "my" pop music, that is 60's, 70's and 80's!
stayed here for the second christmas and is still as excellent as it was last year.It was noted that a number of new guests were staying there as in previous years had stayed at a different hotel which in their opinion had not kept up its standards but were impressed with the Connaught.All the staff are excellent and nothing is too much trouble and the MD David Miller is still hands on in the hotel.The food is execellent and well presented.This hotel certainly passed the cobweb test,after watching one of ruth watsons programmes I have the habit of looking up at the ceiling and I could not see any cobwebs.Thanks to David,Paul,Nick and the team for an excellent christmas
