stayed at the connaught over the xmas period 23rd-27th dec.the first thing that you noticed was how warm the hotel was.we had a superior room which was comfortable and clean with a flat screen tv on the wall.the bathroom was clean with a modern shower cabinet and bathroom suite.the room was cleaned daily and left neat and tidy.breakfast was the same as many other hotels served buffet style but well organised.the food was excellent whether served as a buffet or evening meal and the staff were always pleased to help you.some of the tables in the restaurant can be a bit wobbly as the floor is wooden.the hotel was full but the staff coped well but some people were a little impatient,so what they were'nt going anywhere.the restaurant is well run by the head waiter who was very hands on as were the management.the lounge areas are all well carpeted with a small dance floor and there was always ample chocolates around the lounge.We did not use the pool area although we did go with every intention but it looked very clean.Outside there is ample parking and in fact one of the management team moved his vehicle in order that a disabled person could park in his space.We sat next to a disabled person in the restaurant and the staff were always on hand to give assistance.The price for xmas may sound expensive but you get excellent food,superb staff and a home from home feeling.

We spent the Christmas break at the Connaught and and had a wonderful time. The staff were cheerful, polite and we were treated like honoured guests. The staff seemed to enjoy their jobs and the managers were always around chatting to the guests and ensuring that we had everything we wanted. The meals were excellent, presented beautifully, and better than many a restuarant we have visited. The staff obviously took pride in their work and it pleased us that we often heard the managers praising and thanking individual members of staff.
